Agnes Crumplebottom and the Pursuit of Happiness! [Jan. 8th, 2012|04:19 am]
Ferd’s Sims

So I love that TS3 gives you so many opportunities to rewrite the stories of sims established in previous games. In particular, I LOVE that you can take Miss Crumplebottom of TS1 Hot Date fame and give her a happy ending.

So, that is what I'm doing. I'm also working on the next update for my Taffa legacy, finally. But this is what I have first.

Without further ado...

OH LOOK, SECOND UPDATE. It's kinda shitty because I keep forgetting to cap things so stuff is really brief again. WHATEVER; LOOK AT IT, ANYWAY.

Sims have always been my guilty pleasure. My roommate has this super-sweet high-powered PC that he's kind enough to let me use for sims; I just recently acquired Sims 3 and I am so in love with it. I'm (obviously) playing a legacy family, and I wanted to share with you. However, as all of you who've been following me from day one already know, I'm not new to this game and I've never finished a legacy before. The past few years of my life comprise of many changes, which makes it hard to stick with a single game for ten generations. I feel hopeful about this one, though, so if you're willing to take a chance on it, then you're lovely and you made my day.

SO. Without further ado, I present to you my first legacy post! My founding sim is modeled after the lovely Jinanne (dothesmustle), and she makes for a hella awesome founding sim. (If not a slight pain in the ass because she's a couch potato and hates flirting. WHOOPSIES. I'm making it work, though.)

I ACTUALLY LIKE SIMS 3. I don't have it for my own computer yet, but I played on someone else's computer and wheeee yaaaay fun. Buggy as fuck, but STILL FUN.

I'll be updating the Dalís later tonight :)

Hooray, I updated my resource list. I like to think I've drastically minimalized the amount of CC that I use. Also, I have promptly incinerated all broken links and placed "PM me" notes, where appropriate, for CC that I use from websites that are now defunct.

ANYWAY. Without further ado,

The Dalí Legacy 1.1 - 2.1! [Dec. 6th, 2010|01:22 pm]

SHAZAAM, it's my new legacy. Can't promise quality with this update. In fact, it probably really sucks. I'm pretty rusty. Sorry about that.

I based my founder off the artist Salvador Dalí, 'cause he's my favorite artist and I have this huge-ass biographical book about him with 45796832 pictures of his paintings that I've been reading, and a few nights ago when I was reading this book before bed, I was like, "lol this guy would make a fantastic sim." Unfortunately he's turning out to be kind of a boring sim :B But after a few plays and some sproglets, the pace is starting to pick up and I'm starting to get back into the swing of things and have fun with this family, sooooo methinks I'll continue with the legacy and share it with you LiveJournal peoples.

:B It's the LJer formerly known as without_pith reporting in. Real-life has caught up with me and I haven't been playing the Sims in months. All of my Sims stuff is on my mom's computer, whom I don't currently live with. However I do see her on occasion, and I kind of wanted to get back into the habit of posting legacies and things, even if I can't promise they'll be as frequent as they once were.

Unfortunately, I no longer have any of my older legacy families. I uninstalled the Sims, reformatted my mom's hard drive, and then reinstalled my game. I was going to save my legacy hoods with SimPE, but it was so ridicufucklously slow that it was more appealing to just erase and start from scratch. So...that's what I did.

I have a fancy Mac back at my own apartment that, while outdated, has adequate specs to run TS3, so at some point I'll probably try installing that and see how I like it. If I do, I may think about trying a TS3 legacy that I can be more frequent about updating. For the mean time, I'll just focus on creating a new TS2 legacy. I really want to finish a TS2 legacy!

If you're even still willing to follow my legacies, with my legacy fail rate being what it is, then congratulations, you're one of my favorite people. :P

Just a quick note... [Nov. 17th, 2009|08:06 am]

...to let my readers know that I have not abandoned the Lipschitz legacy, nor my desire to create legacy houses for others to use—in fact, I am really dying to get back to these things. I also want to work on reviving the Björk legacy. But I am in the final months of my massage therapy training right now, and there is a lot I need to memorize (all eleven systems of the body; 206 muscles, what they do, and how they interact with one another; countless massage modalities, such as Chinese, Japanese, ayurvedic (Indian), Thai, Rolfing, manual lymphatic drainage, etc., etc., etc.) for my final exam regarding such, and it is presently eating my life. I've also been focusing a lot on my writing hobby; it's actually thanks to the Sims and thinking up things to write for my legacy updates that helped me break my writer's block that has persisted for over ten years. I know outsiders (and even those who play Sims) can think that the Sims is a really lame and life-wasting hobby, but for me, it has been amazingly helpful and therapeutic. Not to mention I adore the friends I've made via the community. ♥

Anyway. I don't wanna ramble too much. Just wanted to say I have not randomly fallen off the face of the earth, and that I miss you guys and the Sims franchise and I can't wait to get back to it and to you.
